Members of the European Parliament!

In our times for the media it is usual to warn against the Internet search engine Google. There are names like "Data-Octopus" or else. This shows two facts: some people have fear. And: this fear makes unobjective. I say, that's almost panic. Now this fear has also grabbed some of us - and prompt they present us "alarmed", "fearing", "worried" and "deeply concerned" a resolution against Google's services. And every word of it makes clear, that fear is a really bad adviser!

According to it, there should get established a new institution - "Net Data Security" - in order to warn people against supported dangers of the internet. As if the citizens were stupid! They know, that search engines are not for free. They know that search engines save data. They know that in this way advertisments get more specified.
That's well known - and accepted. Today, privacy in many points is sacrified; for something better: for advantage. That simply makes life easier. That is modern life-style, that are modern times and you have to accept modern times.
Or: who complains about telephone books in our day? In there are Names - telephone numbers - also: adresses. And: it's usefull. One of Google's services - Street View - is the modern continuation of that. And so it's critisised by the resolution. And why? there are pictures of streets - listen! - pictures of public streets. What every Walker, every car driver, what everybody can see - should not be seen by normal internet users? The resolution says, there would be the possiblity of abuse, because someone could see your house. But I ask: how? The only difference beetween looking at a house in the internet and in real is that the graphic of Street View is worse. So, in fact, there is no higher risk of abuse. Criminals can see houses so or so, if they want!
The writers of the resolution also do not seem to have used Street View before. Why else would they demand, that car signs and faces of persons should get blurred? In fact, that already is done, I've seen. They should inform better! But they dont't. They have fear, fear of modern times, that are represented by Google. Fear is no way of making policy! Neither of handling with the progress. And so I call you, the calm and clever majority, to reject this resolution!
